CD Music of Israelites and Jews of Africa and Asia

The CD Music of Israelites and Jews of Africa and Asia is the result of Irene's two year journey. Equipped with a mobile studio, Irene crossed seven countries visiting distant and sometimes dangerous places in Africa and Asia to record ten tracks of music of the Israelite and Jewish tribes.
Later the tracks were arranged and Irene's own vocal and Stick tracks added at her home studio in Israel and mixed at Music Brothers Records studio in Russia by Kirill Malahov.
While traveling, Irene saw hardship, poverty and discrimination that many of the Jewish communities in Africa and Asia encounter in their daily lives, and decided to turn it into a charity project to raise funds to support those communities in need. A number of renowned artists agreed to volunteer by adding their instruments to the tracks, such musicians as Tony Levin, Don Schiff and Jerry Marotta.

New Film Series Project

While still working on the CD, Irene realized that it is not enough to show the listeners the unique music of Israelite and Jewish communities of Africa and Africa. The history, traditions and way of life of those people is just as unique as their music. To tell the fascinated story of these groups, Irene decided to revisit all the communities and make a documentary film. Though the film will not solely concentrate on music, the music of the Israelites and Jews of Africa and Asia will be still the primary focus of the film. Irene is planning to start her filming odyssey in March of 2014 in Ethiopia with the first film in the series "Balla Ejj: the hidden Jews of Ethiopia" and is currently working on the film script, soundtracks and logistics.
